Sardinia gives extraordinary opportunities to those who love holidays dedicated to sports and wellness. Many are the outdoor activities you can practice, between the Mediterranean nature and the bright blue sea.

Golf.

The mild climate, the beautiful landscapes and the high quality golf structures spread all over the island, make Sardinia the perfect place to practice this activity. The most famous golf structures of the island are Pevero Golf Club, in Porto Cervo, and Is Molas in Pula, in the South of the country, where important championships take place. Close to these structures it’s easy to find superb Club Houses, hotels and restaurants.

Horse-riding.

Sardinia’s tradition in horse breeding and horse-riding is well known, thanks to the most important national horsemen who come from the island. Lots of perfectly equipped riding associations are present, where well trained guides lead tourists and beginners through the wild nature, in wonderful promenades.

Hiking.

The variety of Sardinian territory gives the possibility to cross wild lands, centenary woods, to see breathtaking landscapes, sometimes facing the sea.

Diving.

This sport is quite common in the island, thanks to its coasts and the variety of the sea bottom, where lots of different vegetal and animal species live. While scuba diving it is possible to enjoy the sight of a huge variety of fish, molluscs, and shellfish, set in a background of corals, sponges, and sabellas.

Deep water fishing.

An increasingly known activity, practiced from both experts and beginners. Professional fishermen pilot equipped boats, showing different fishing techniques to catch big preys to the guests.

Surf, Windsurf and Kitesurf.

Sardinia is the ideal country to practice these activities, because of the strong winds continuously blowing, namely Mistral and Scirocco. Every Sardinian coast is suitable, but the best one is surely Porto Pollo (a huge sandy beach in the North of Gallura, between Palau and Santa Teresa di Gallura). Here, a great number of receptive structures are present, together with surf schools, shops, and leisure clubs open at night.

Sailing.

The blowing winds are important for those who enjoy sailing too. Lots of sailing schools are present throughout the island, the biggest being Centro Velico di Caprera, created in 1967.Sardinian regattas are a well rooted tradition thanks to the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda in Porto Cervo. Not only is this club remembered because of the successful Azzurra (American Championship), but also because of the yearly worldwide events, such as The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup.

Health spa & Wellness.

With so many structures – dedicated to both physical and mental wellness spread throughout the island – to choose from you are spoilt for choice.
Thermal centres, health spa, and thalassotherapy centres may be easily found everywhere, in the vicinity of important hotels.
